Peace Lily

Peace Lily’s or Spathiphyllum are a fantastic low maintenance indoor plant for anyone who wants to add some greenery to their interior. They have beautiful shiny dark green foliage which adds a tropical feeling of luxury to any home. In addition they are possibly the easiest of any flowering indoor plants to care of. Their pure white blooms last for months and add a striking contrasts against their lush, green foliage.

Peace Lily’s are not fussy plants at all. The key to a happy Peace Lily is to keep them away from direct sunlight and drafts from heating and cooling. They are versatile plants that tolerate indirect sunlight, but can also thrive in very low light areas of the house. If you have a dark location within your house, place a Peace Lily there in a nice decorative basket or pot and you will dramatically transform the look of that boring, dark space.

If your indoor plants are not looking their best, its very likely that you are over watering it, or your soil is not draining correctly. As a rule of thumb, only water your peace lily if the top 20mm of the soil feels dry. You shouldn’t need to water them more than once a week.

As an added bonus, peace lilies are rated as one of the best indoor plants for their purification properties which extract harmful chemicals from the air and leave the air in your home clean and pure. If you really want to transform your house into a clean, family friendly home then Peace Lily or other indoor plants in every room. Plants actually create a support system for each other, so the more you have in your life, the happier both you and your plants will be.
